Incoming Tide - problem-solving exercise ....
So we were all tired but we still had energy for Buxton
Adventure Quest. We loved the low ropes although I fell off a few times-
Tia and I caught each other!

Day Two - Thursday 19 June
Following the previous day of excitement we set off in
various directions, some went to the Lowry and others went to Old Trafford,
home of Manchester United.
At The Lowry there was an option to do either 3D Modelling or to take part in Drama. In 3D modelling we first took part in an
automatic drawing challenge (not looking at the pencil or paper), then copied
some of Lowry's drawings and sculpted them into figures.
In Drama we tried a
series of exercises plus very hard brain teasers! We had to use our bodies in
extremely different ways and used characters from Lowry's paintings to base our
improvisations.
Old Trafford was amazing and the actual stadium is huge.
It was great to see the players changing rooms and the shirts. I loved walking
through the tunnel on to the pitch to the recorded sound of the crowd roaring!
Mrs Heery was asked to sum up Old Trafford in one word and she chose
'stupendous'.
The evening meal was lovely and the choice of evening
activities was extremely hard to choose from; supporting England in the World
Cup, watching a DVD, playing in the games room or chilling in our rooms.

Day 1 - Wednesday
On Wednesday our first stop was Castleton! After looking
around the pretty village and round the ancient church with interesting
architecture, we took a stop at the old fashioned sweet shop which to our great,
great disappointment was closed, but our day was far from over.
Next up was the very long walk up to the Norman castle,
Peveril Castle and - wow! - it was hard plus very long, but we weren't complaining
for long when our eyes met the magnificent sight of all valleys below. We sat
eating lunch whilst admiring the views and then we were allowed time to
explore.
Later we were driven to the lovely Manchester Youth Hostel and we were very pleased to discover the Ben &Jerry's ice cream
machine!
"SHS's Got Talent" was full of laughter and surprises, but was amazing. Our
day was great and we went to bed very tired but happy!
